Back to AnnouncementsImportant Notice: Academy Closure Due to Extreme Heat - Thursday 25 June 2026
24th Jun 2026Due to the exceptionally high temperatures forecast for tomorrow and the resulting excessive heat levels within our classrooms, we have made the difficult decision to close the academy and move to remote learning for tomorrow – Thursday 25th June 2026.
The health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.
Despite making adjustments to our uniform and to classroom locations, we feel that further action is now necessary. With a red alert in place and temperatures predicted to rise again tomorrow, we anticipate a further increase in classroom temperatures that will create an environment that is not conducive to effective teaching and learning.
During this period of remote learning, students should complete work using their SPARX Science, Maths and English platforms. Students can access one hour of each subject on their iPads.
The Year 11 Prom will continue as planned. This is held in a fully air-conditioned space.
The colour-run will not take place after school on Friday. An alternative date is being arranged.
We understand that this change may cause inconvenience for some families and appreciate your flexibility and understanding. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will communicate any further updates as needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support.
